JJJackson
Sorry, searched the forums but couldn´t find an answer. Before i clean the registry I let CCleaner make a backup, BUT if I want to restore from this backup, where do I find it and how do I restore it? Willy2
- In the folder "My Documents" (or the spanish ??) equivalent. The file has the date & time when this file was made, in its name. - Just click on that *.reg file. Then you'll be asked if you want yo "merge" that file with the registry. Reply with "Yes". Moderators mta Posted August 17, 2016 Moderators Share Posted August 17, 2016 the .reg file created if you took the backup option is defaulted to the Doc folder. did you say Yes to the backup option? did you change the default location? it'll have a .reg extension, make sure you have the folder option set to show extensions. if still no luck try searching for *.reg files. and to reload a .reg file, simply double click it. Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last. Moderators DennisD Posted August 17, 2016 Moderators Share Posted August 17, 2016 Hi Jack, and welcome to Piriform. Further to Willy2's suggestion, a CCleaner reg backup file looks like this ... cc_20160817_230631.reg Try doing a search for .reg files and the CCleaner backups should pop up in the results window, with their location. EDIT: Damn, you just pipped me mta.
login123
Sorry, but I don´t have any files like that in my Document folder. Jack You won't have such a file unless you have made a backup with CCleaner's registry cleaner. If you did so and can't find a .reg file, search for the text string cc_ Search the whole drive. Good luck, post back how it goes. The CCleaner SLIM version is always released a bit after any new version; when it is it will be HERE :-) Pssssst: ... It isn't really a cloud. Its a bunch of big, giant servers.
