PantsForHire
Ran a clean on my computer and deicded to restart it short after. It boots, but stays on the bios loading screen. Also, before the restart, it would not let me open any programs. Is a quick fix available?
Moderators Andavari Posted April 24, 2016 Moderators Share Posted April 24, 2016 Did you use the Registry Cleaner? If so did you allow it to create the backup it offered to create? If so the backup by default would be stored in the My Documents folder as a .REG file, double-clicking it will put the removed registry data back into the Windows registry. If you have a recent System Restore Point try restoring from it - no guarantee it will fix anything though, but if it does it's a quick and easy way with minimal effort. Moderators mta Posted April 25, 2016 Moderators Share Posted April 25, 2016 If if stays on the BIOS splash screen rather than the Windiws one, then that sounds like a hardware (possbily the hard drive) issue. Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last. WindHydra
Did you clean old windows files? I ran into similar problem and had to reinstall windows http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=46106
benbob
Same for me. Piriform know their product is faulty but they aren't doing anything about it. CCleaner (just the normal default cleaner, not even the registry tool) totally destroyed my Windows installation costing me a day of my life fixing my computer after Piriform broke it. Moderators Nergal Posted May 14, 2016 Moderators Share Posted May 14, 2016 Please take bugs that kill people's computers and require them to spend all day fixing up after seriously then. I get that you don't want people to see that your product is critically flawed, but you can't censor such a bug away. Hazelnut has no ties to piriform as a company, she has no want to "cover up bugs". Our jobs as moderators are to keep threads on topic, while you may be upset about what occurred to your pc, you have a thread and will be afforded all courtesy there. Do stop posting in other people's threads. Thank you. ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark) ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.
