pserpas
I ran Defraggler on W10. Oddly enough, when I first started, I had 5% fragmentation and after I ran Defraggler it jumped up to 25%! Anyway, Windows shows 0% fragmentation and Defraggler shows 24%. What am I supposed to believe?
Moderators mta Posted June 11, 2017 Moderators Share Posted June 11, 2017 perhaps the fragmentation has just occurred? when was the last time you hit analyse for the Win10 defrag? or maybe there is a difference between the files covered by both programs, like; pagefile, restore points, hibernation file temp files etc. what settings do you run DF with? and what sort of defrag process was performed? when you ran DF and went from 5% to 25%, have you ticked Stop VSS and ticked Exclude restore points and Exclude hibernation file ? Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. You control the last.
