Willy2
Californian woman sued Microsoft for a failed Win 10 auto upgrade and won. MS agreed to pay $ 10.000 without admitting guilt. Did she REALLY never hear of Windows 10 ? I doubt it. http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/618378/california-woman-awarded-10000-for-borked-windows-10-upgrade http://www.theinquirer.net/inquirer/news/2462919/updategate-california-woman-awarded-usd10-000-for-borked-windows-10-upgrade System setup: http://speccy.piriform.com/results/gcNzIPEjEb0B2khOOBVCHPc A discussion always stimulates the braincells !!! Moderators Andavari Posted June 27, 2016 Moderators Share Posted June 27, 2016 Interesting she'd win that amount -- unless it was some critical work-related computer. I don't know why Microsoft can't just notify users of an available upgraded version of Windows, and then make it solely be a manually opt-in choice to get it versus an auto installation. If they were to do that then in triplicate they could have the end-user say Yes/Agree to the best of Microsoft's ability to help avoid people accidentally installing Win10 if they truly don't want it.
