CCleaner Pro 5.33.6162 (64-bit portable)
Win 10 Pro
Firefox 55.0.1 (64-bit)

Roboform 8.3.9.5

Hi:

CCleaner when it runs, removes roboform lower toolbar from appearing in Firefox. CCleaner removes the checked option in Firefox/addons/roboform/options to allow lower toolbar, so that that option has to be manually checked again so that the toolbar will appear again.

Roboform support says the problem is not on their end.

FYI:
I have "reset" firefox to defaults, and have disabled all ons except roboform and have also created a new profile, but the issue remains because cccleaner is somehow removing the option for lower toolbar to appear in roboform when ccleaner cleans.

Question: Would you address this issue with ccleaner?

did CC do this in v5.32?

do you use winapp2.ini or any other enhancements with CC?

maybe it's time to pinpoint the offending option in CC.

run CC with all the Firefox options untick, check the Roboform toolbar.

repeat, adding one option at a time until the toolbar vanishes.

It appears to be "cookies"

All other options when checked, do not cause the lower toolbar to disappear, but when cookies are checked and ccleaner is run, then the lower toolbar disappears.

Looking at firefox/addons/roboform/options, the option to display the lower toolbar has become unchecked after running ccleaner with the chekced option to clean cookies checked.

So that appears to be the issue.

OK, good job.

now go to CC > Options > Cookies, move the Roboform entry over to Cookies to Keep.

with Roboform toolbar working, go into CC > Applications > Firefox, right click Cookies and Analyse Cookies.

what looks roboform related there?

in theory then, if Roboform toolbar is now working and you run CC, that will break it yes?

so I'm thinking perhaps one of those cookies may be related despite the lack of a meaningful name.

why not try to keep those cookies listed, run CC and see what happens.

Could be some configuration file for it. Personally I'd find where the extension is installed and input an exclude into CCleaner for that path, next I'd find any configuration file for it (if it has one) and I'd also exclude that.

That's similar how things have to be done in Chrome based browsers for some extensions so that CCleaner doesn't remove the configuration for them such as adblockers.

There were a couple of cookies that had random letters, I choose those to move over, ran ccleaner, and now roboform lower toolbar is not being unchecked to show. It remains between sessions. So, keeping of those random lettered cookies appears to have worked, for now. I'll continue to follow it, if there is a problem, I'll post back. Thanks for your help.

As another solution, I'll also try excluding roboform extension in ccleaner. Thanks again!
