jkinpa
Hi, I have run the duplicate file finder looking for duped photos, docs, spreadsheets etc. Every time I select files for deletion it makes like it is running and then I get an error that some files could not be deleted but it does not delete a single file. Do I have it set up incorrectly? I am using windows 7 Thanks Joe
Moderators mta Posted June 10, 2017 Moderators Share Posted June 10, 2017 can you show some examples? usually if a file cannot be deleted it is because it is locked (open, read-only, linked to a running process etc) Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. Moderators mta Posted July 3, 2017 Moderators Share Posted July 3, 2017 if you just want to delete something and for whatever reason it won't then you could try removing that file/folder with the PC in Safe Mode or by using a 3rd party tool like Unlocker. (a warning using Unlocker - read all messages during installation carefully as it tries to install an embedded toolbar) Backup now & backup often. It's your digital life - protect it with a backup.Three things are certain; Birth, Death and loss of data. timX34
hello, I just have try with safe mode. I even not can remove the folder-read-only; and the file could not remove too with ccleaner. I don't think the problem is about the folder.

timX34
time for Unlocker then... hello, I don't want to use CCleaner as duplicate file finder, and go to each folder to delete files (don't need Unlocker) I am a lot of af duplicate file, and if I should use CCleaner to found duplication, then search each file one by one, I will lost more time than if CCleaner could delete then directly. so, I will found another way to make that. thank you
