- Microsoft is going to reduce the amount of Updates each month. Each month, all the "non security updates" for a number of Windows versions will be packaged into one single Update.

- Look at the title of this webarticle: "Simplifying Updates for Win 7 & Win 8" !!!

- The article annouces the "Convenience Roll Up" for Win 7 SP 1as well !!!

- The article contains these words:

"we’re making available a new convenience rollup for Windows 7 SP1"

Were there any previous "Roll Up" updates for Win 7 SP 1  ???

- But is Microsoft going to include in those "roll up" updates the "Optional" updates as well ? I certainly hope they won't. Because those "Optional" updates contain the Win 10 nagware.

- The article (see post #1) also reveals more changes. Somewhere this summer MS is going to change/update the Update webpage code (think: ActiveX). Then e.g. Chrome & Firefox users are also able to download Windows Updates.

- When I read this article right then MS will regularly make new "Convenience Roll Up" packages/Updates available ???

http://www.ghacks.net/2016/05/17/microsoft-updating-windows-7-8-1-easier/

That's not what I read in the Original MS blog post:

https://blogs.technet.microsoft.com/windowsitpro/2016/05/17/simplifying-updates-for-windows-7-and-8-1/

Although the article contains these words "We’re happy to announce today that we’re making available a new convenience rollup for Windows 7 SP1 that will help.  This convenience rollup package, .............. "

It would also explain why there was this "-v4-" in the name of the "Roll Up Update".

- IE is no longer the only browser that's able to download updates from the "Microsoft Catalog" website:

- Then there will be a database with all the updates.
