Franico
I've used CCleaner for years, and counted on it heavily to keep my system clean and free of unnecessary and/or unwanted information. Recently I noted that my Chrome history -- available within the Chrome browser by going to the menu in the upper right corner and selecting History -- showed all of my browsing history for many days in the past, even though I had run CCleaner at least once a day, and sometimes more. As a test, I browsed to several Web sites, then closed Chrome, ran CCleaner, and re-opened Chrome. And all of the sites I had just visited were still in the browsing history! My CCleaner settings for Chrome are the default settings -- which includes "Download History" (but not History). I always run CCleaner with my browsers closed. (If I forget, CCleaner reminds me, and asks if I want to close them.) What could be happening that would cause CCleaner to NOT empty my Chrome history? What is the difference (in CCleaner setup for Chrome) between 'Download History' and 'History'? And why does History have an asterisk (*) next to it? I am running CCleaner v5.20 on a Windows 7 system. As far as I know, this has been happening for at least several weeks (though I cannot pinpoint when it started). Thanks.
