Version 5.35 won't install

Hello Piriform Staff,

I can't get version 5.35 to install.. I'm running a 64 bit system, a Dell Optiplex 990. It's Second generation Core I5, Sandy Bridge.

I don't have a a service to host an image so I'm going to try to copy the information, to the best of my ability

Error opening file for writing:

C:\Program Files\CCleaner\CCleaner64.exe

Click Abort to stop the installation

Retry to try again, or

Ignore to skip this file.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks so much,

Bill N.

Make sure all instances of ccleaner are exited, including monitoring, are ended (check task manager)

If none running, or it still doesn't work, go to c:\program files\ccleaner and manually delete ccleaner 64.exe. Then click retry - or if, exited installer, rerun installer.

Edit: what windows version are you using, you gave a bunch of unneeded info of your pc but left that detail out.

ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION

DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF.

Do your Registry Cleaning in small bits (at the very least Check-mark by Check-mark)

ALWAYS BACKUP THE ENTRY, YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT YOU'LL BREAK IF YOU DON'T.

Then, because windows 7, you'll need to be admin and will get a UAC warning when trying to delete the file

Hello,

Write here not to multiply thread :-)  altough I foud this post closed

I have similar problem. I am a user of CCleaner Profesional Edition. I try download upgrade from version 5.32.6129 to 5.35.6210 a few times but without success.

Each attempt ends with an error message:

An error occurred while upgrading CCleaner. 0x2efd: Can not establish a connection to the server.

How I can fix my problem? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My OS is Windowws Vista Home Edition.

Thanks so much,

Kris

Very different issue but it sounds like you have a firewall blocking ccleanerDownload and try slim installer http://piriform.com/ccleaner/buildsOr copy ccleaner.exe and ccleaner64.exe out of the portable build (same page) and paste them on top of your ccleaner install (default c:\program files\ccleaner )
