Icedrake
I gave up on Comodo (even though it provides good protection) and I use Windows XP Firewall now because Comodo is just too intrusive. It gives a pop up on every little thing.
YoKenny
My DSL modem provided by my ISP has a built in firewall and I find that provides good intrusion prevention and I use the XP firewall. It has setting that can be adjusted in the Exceptions and Advance areas. Tarq57
I used to find the earlier versions of CFP3 quite intrusive, especially with D+ selected. The latest version (3.0.22.349) is much friendlier. I only get popups for new or updated software, or connecting applications that haven't seen the web before. I'd tried 2 #3 versions before that, but was always a little confused by some of the alerts. So went to CFP2.4, but that's no longer supported (although it is still available for download); Secunia describes it as "end of life." So to answer, XP firewall is much easier to use (it never really prompts for anything) but only blocks inbound. Comodo still does need to be answered from time to time, but is much better than it was, and blocks in and outbound traffic. So in my opinion, Comodo is much better to use. If you choose to use it, just set the D+ in training mode for a few days.
Moderators rridgely Posted May 16, 2008 Moderators Share Posted May 16, 2008 Avoid the problems, head aches, and pains in the as*es and just use the windows firewall. Run an AV, install spyware blaster, and stay off of "risky" web sites/avoid clicking on spam emails and you will be fine.

Thanking you in advance Eli Hi Eli, I can only say that I haven't seen rridgely give any bad advice yet. Especially when it comes to PC security. Of course I may be influenced by the fact that he is a Global Moderator and tends to put a lot of effort into the Spyware Hell - HijackThis Log Analysis forum . davey
