Moderators Nergal Posted August 5, 2009 Moderators Share Posted August 5, 2009 Hello. Still will not download. Cheers. Be Specifc what do you mean won't download? The previous errors reported (which HAS been fixed) was not that it "will not download" but that the zip file was corrupt and wouldn't open via anything except 7-zip and maybe a few other 3rd party zip extractors. Is this the problem you are having? or is there another issue you are having? ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Moderators Nergal Posted August 19, 2009 Moderators Share Posted August 19, 2009 Denis is it possible to split the broken Zip file into it's own thread with a mention at the top of this thread, it's gone of the topic of the embedded files IMHO ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. Keithuk
PS: There is still no fix in place for IE downloads. Please use another browser for the moment. Well I can't see why there has to be a fix for IE. Every other zip I download I can open but this one. The easiest way would be to have 3 Quote or Code boxes and copy and paste the code out of each file into each box then we could copy and paste and make our own ini files. pluto
Can someone please put embedded_INIs_v2.23.zip at another place so us with only IE can download the INI files please? I just uploaded the file for you here: http://rapidshare.com/files/272540268/embe..._INIs_v2.23.zip I'll do that every time for the users that have problems downloading the file from this site with IE! Keithuk
Thanks Pluto. Well I've always wondered if these embedded INIs are so important. Why aren't they added to a normal CC install? They are only 54kb so thats not going to increase the installation package that much is it? Moderators Nergal Posted August 31, 2009 Moderators Share Posted August 31, 2009 They are included, they are inside the actual exe thus the word embedded. The only reason they are posted here is so a) The Advanced Members here can point to actual Parts of the program when a questioner says why isn't x program included, when it really is So someone can see all the programs covered by CCleaner without every five seconds us getting the question "can you please list all the programs" c) to show a person how to create and winapp2, a winsys2 or a winreg2 d) so people (like me) can occasionally delete entires in their win*2.ini files as those things are added to the embedded exe so they are here for information. Including them would a) add unneeded bloat to the CCleaner program (they aren't needed because it's already inside the exe) Confuse people (and have a lot of questions like "What is this embedded ini zip" or "do I need to keep these ini files, what do they do" ADVICE FOR USING CCleaner'S REGISTRY INTEGRITY SECTION DON'T JUST CLEAN EVERYTHING THAT'S CHECKED OFF. The fact that we can't extract MrT's files beats me. Keith Windows XP 2002 SP3 IE 7.0 Martin2k Rorshach112 is the best
