  2. No progress after 3 days

Hi all. I have a 1TB drive that lost its partition for some unknown reason. I re-formatted it and tried to recover files with recuva. After 3 days it shows 40 files found and 0 % progress. If I cancel the scan the list of found files shows approximately 340 files found. I am running a deep scan. Any suggestions as to what I can do? John

  4. If you are still using Nox player that may be why the entries cannot delete. I don't know a lot about Android emulators so perhaps someone else may chime in.
  5. Yes I do run an emulator (Nox) I have enabled hidden folders and files I do not see that folder in there
  6. Winapp2.ini additions

Thanks for the new entries and the replies. Winapp2.ini update: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/commit/367131458db7c42b76ebaa2d071f461b31cfec05
  7. Do you or have you ever used an android emulator on your PC ? You could look here and see if anything is there (you will have to enable hidden files and folders to see if anything is there or in ProgramData.) C:\Users\Yourname\AppData\Roaming\ChangZhi2
  8. So I have been evaluating speccy to possibly purchase. But there are all sorts of issues with this program. Mostly the stats provided on my system by your application are incorrect. My Motherboard is showing red at 118 degrees centigrade! I think at that temperature I would have a melted heap of silicon and plastic. Yet Asus AI Suite 3 shows 39 degrees, which is far more accurate. Your CPU temperature stats shows my CPU at idle at 51 degrees Centigrade. Again AI Suite shows 41 degrees. So now I am beginning to question if any of your stats within the application are correct?? Anyone else seeing these types of issues? thanks G
  9. Can someone please explain why I have a registry entry that keeps on coming back especially after it has been deleted by CCleaner? I do not see any file or folder that is named this on my PC. Thanks in advance for your replies.
  10. See here for a previous discussion about it with solutions: https://forum.piriform.com/topic/53177-how-to-disable-pre-launching-and-pre-loading-so-ccleaner-can-fully-clean-edge/

    Thanks for info trium
  12. This is the error I get now when I try to Clean MS Edge. I only started seeing it after Windows updated the day before yesterday. I went to the website and saw the link that shows you how to disable the pre-loading/pre-launching in regedit., but I'm not finding MicrosoftEdge on my laptop. I get to 'SOFTWARE' in Regedit, but not MicrosoftEdge. I'm running Windows 10.

  18. If the old hard disk is still plugged in perhaps change the boot order in the BIOS so that the new cloned disk has priority. And if that fails unplug the old hard disk.
  19. I recently cloned my 1st hard drive to a 2nd hard drive. In the process some of my Firefox profile files, on the cloned hard drive, were marked as the default ones. But when I run CCleaner (5.00.5050) Free, it's cleaning the non-default Firefox files on the 1st hard drive, even though they aren't the ones being updated every time I use Firefox. I realize this is an unusual situation, but is there a way to set CCleaner to clean the Firefox files on the 2nd hard drive. And it's not just the Firefox files, but my WinXP temp files (and others) on the cloned hard drive as also the ones being updated. So I need to point CCleaner at both hard drives. Is this possible?
  20. The Firefox/Mozilla Thread

I jupdated to 68.0.1 and the contrast changed; all the screen colours in the Firefox browser now look 'washed out'. Has anybody else been affected in this way? EDIT. Looks as if it may not have been FFx that caused this. I had installed some CAD software yesterday, reverting back to the restore point from that installation seems to have cleared the issue.

Great, thank you very much for your reply and testing.

  24. New update

Finally fixed ... after trying many times I finally completely uninstalled the (old ver) with RevoUninstall, then reinstalled the old version, and bingo the update worked.
  25. I am trying to recover pictures that I deleted from my recycle bin. When they were deleted they were in a zipfile. Not sure if this matters for the issue I'm having. Whenever I run a recovery scan, the thurmbnails for my pictures that I want to recover, only show about 1/10th of the image. What am I doing wrong? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
  26. email link?

Hey thanks for writing back, so oooops I did send it as a link to some of my friends using IE 11, but no one has written back telling me they tried it yet, so I'm sorry if maybe that was a mistake but it was only a few and I really was impressed with the speed. So OK yes I was talking about having a link to my own email integration so I can send a web page link. Here is something that happened to me yesterday, I was using your browser and decided to pay a small propane bill and when I got to a certain point to put in my CC info I couldn't so I called the company and we switched back to IE11 and then it worked. So I concluded that it was the Ad Block, so right now it's turned off, I went to the settings page and turned off all the checks to make it stop. I do want to use it but sometime it needs to be stopped so if when you are messing around with it in the future could you add a simple stop feature to do a task then easily turn it back on? The settings page for the Ad Block for a armature are completely undecipherable so I turned them all off, yeah now the web pages are jumping with ads but they work. I was very impressed on the speed of integrating my Favs. from IE 11 and that's so much better than having to start over bookmarking sites again when you use Fire Fox or Chrome which are not as good and easy as Internet Explorer. Thanks, Marc
  27. Winapp2.ini additions

No, it does not appear to have any negative affect on Edge Chromium. Works okay as far as I can tell.
  28. Avast CEO paid peanuts

I used to have a team in Madrid who were extremely hard workers. But yeah, Brits in Spain would probably think they were on holiday. So Holborn it shall remain. Instead of outdoor dining on the Costa del Sol we have the outdoor seating at Costa Coffee downstairs - but we'll get more done.
  29. email link?

Thank @Marc Hlaktoong. Glad you are enjoying the features so far - keep an eye on the forums here since there are plenty more to come. Are you trying to send a link to a friend to download CCleaner Browser? If so the download link and more information about CCleaner Browser (including links to the documentation and help files) can be found here: https://www.ccleaner.com/ccleaner/browser. (Note that while some users have had it offered to them when they install CCleaner itself, this is not a guaranteed way of being able to get it - while the browser is in preview it is only being presented to a minority of users.) Or is this a question about some sort of native email integration?

      Forum Rules

Welcome to the Piriform Forums!     In order to keep the forums running well and to prevent problems, please follow these simple rules for the forums. If you have any questions or problems, please feel free to contact one of The Moderating Team.     1: Be respectful to all members when posting.   No flaming, personal attacks such as flaming, instigating "flame bait", verbal abuse or mocking of members in forum posts are not tolerated at the Piriform Forums. Such posts will be deleted on sight and moderated accordingly. If you are a long standing member, act like one.   Lead by example and assist other newer members rather then attacking them. Members that reply to posts simply to instigate argument will be warned. Should you ignore this warning you will be banned.     2: No Warez (links) & Cracks.   Help, requests or posts that discuss circumvention. This includes linking to illegally obtained software, movies & music files - posting about it, and suggesting to get it.     3: Don't post your question under multiple topics.   Think before posting and choose the right forum for your question or answer. Be sure to check the pinned topics or use the Search feature to see if your question has already been addressed. When posting, have something to say, not just "My first post!"     4: No spamming, ever!   Spamming is characterized by the initiation of threads or posts that contribute nothing to a forum, be it off topic or on topic.   Examples include: empty bodies, bodies with few words that have no relation to the current thread or discussion and those posts that state they are spam, either to annoy, advertise or increase a member's post count. Resurrecting old forum posts is also not appreciated unless it serves a worthy cause to the forum. This determination is made by the forum Moderator or Administrator and is not up for discussion.     5: Unacceptable Forum or News comments.   While some members feel that post count is important, there are some posts that do not contribute to the community in any way whatsoever. Below is a list of unacceptable posts. If you wish to direct a fellow member to something that has already been posted, please do so in a courteous manner.   "Old news" or anything similar.   "(Insert product or brand) sucks" or anything similar.   "I posted this x days ago!!!" or anything similar.     6: Avatars, signatures and custom user titles.   I: Avatars are a luxury for the members to have. Avatars can be a maximum of 90x90 and 50kb in size. Avatars can also be in any of these formats: gif, jpg, jpeg, png.   II: Forum signatures are to be used respectfully, so do not annoy our members by making your signature into some sort of web ad. Signatures can be a maximum of 350x100 and 80kb in size.   III: You may have an image at the maximum of 350x100 in your signature at the standard text size and four lines of text with the image.   IV: You may have a maximum six lines of text in your signature at the standard size. Larger font sizes are allowed so long as they do not break the 350x100 limit.   V: X-Fire signatures are an exception to this rule as they only have two sizes that are preset.   VI: Advertising in your signature is strictly prohibited. Linking to a product that competes against Piriform is strictly prohibited.   VII: Custom user titles are not to be abused. Vulgarity, racism or flaming in member titles will not be tolerated.   VIII: Inappropriate content such as Pornographic, violent or otherwise offensive images, language etc. This may include racist remarks, slander etc...   IX: If the avatar/signature is overly distracting, ie. bright flashing colors, animated signatures (i.e. GIF's/Flash) Audio and Video. These are distracting for our members, so do not have audio or video in your signature.   X: Please do not include signature links of a malicious nature. Examples are those that crash your browser, trigger popup floods or emulate BSOD's.   XI: Do not use your signature to link to pages that contain objectionable material. This includes, warez, cracks, pornography, pyramid schemes, referral ID's, ebay listings and requesting personal donations.   Abusing these privileges will result in them being lost and your account being restricted. Disregarding the above rules will result in the loss of the item in violation without warning.     7: Posts in a particular forum need to stay on topic.   If you want to talk about something that is drastically removed from the topic of a forum, please take it to "The Lounge". The Lounge was set up and designed for members to discuss issues not related to a specific forum section. We welcome most general conversation in The Lounge, but discourage it from other forums.     8: Use a title that describes the content of your post. Don't use all caps or special characters to draw attention.   Please refrain from using CAPITALIZATIONS in the topic title or when participating in threads because they will not attract attention - instead it will annoy many of the Piriform Forum members.   Very often we see meaningless subjects in topic title. They give no clue of what the posts are all about.   For example: Oh no! | I'm mad | Please help.   This should be avoided. Users should enter something more specific in topic title so that it is easier for others to help.   A few good examples:   CCleaner crashes during the analysis | Registry issues keep reappearing after scanning with CCleaner Issues | Computer very slow to startup.     9: No alternate accounts are allowed.   Should you be disciplined with a restriction or ban, you are not allowed to open a new account to obtain freedom to post. Restrictions and bans are given for a reason, and usurping that ability by re-registering is not tolerated.   If another account is opened, that account will be banned immediately, and the original account will be further penalized. Anyone who has warnings on their account are automatically excluded from changing their user name.     10: Giving advice on Malware Removal.   Giving advice on the removal of Malware by any member is to be discouraged. Even though some members may believe they have the knowledge to offer some basic safe advice, it may not be the "best" advice, and could also set a precedent for any member, knowledgeable or otherwise, to do the same.   Advice should only be dispensed by a qualified Malware Removal Expert on a reputable Malware Removal Forum.   This is to prevent "wrong" advice, albeit well meaning, being given by non qualified members, which could have disastrous consequences for the original poster.   If someone asks for help on removing Malware would members please limit themselves to pointing them to one or all of the following Malware Removal Forums ...   1: BleepingComputer   2: Geeks to Go   3: MalwareBytes Malware Removal   4: Malware Removal Forum   5: Cyber Tech Help   6: Avast Malware Removal Forum     11: Inappropriate Content.   No content, or advice or requests for assistance, relating to any activity that the moderators consider to be illegal or offensive will be tolerated.     12: The Piriform Staff requires that members respect the decision of moderators.   Threads and posts questioning the actions or decisions of forum moderations will be deleted on sight, and the appropriate action taken (up to and including forum bans) against the thread starter and/or participants.   Reporting System: Do not abuse the report system, while we appreciate members reporting bad behavior, we don't appreciate rude comments or your opinion on how 'quick' staff are at handling problems around here.   However, as a member you reserve the right to PM any Moderator or Administrator regarding action taken at the Piriform Forums.     13. Closed or removed an unacceptable post or topic:   Once an administrator or moderator has closed or removed an unacceptable post or topic it's then deemed to be a closed matter. If the member starts a new topic or posts with the same or similar unacceptable content it will result into administrative actions being taken against the member.   14. Publishing the content of Private Messages:   Please be aware that the posting of any contents of private messages (PM's) is expressly forbidden on the forum unless both parties have agreed to it.   15. Requesting help with computer issues via the pm (private messaging) system:   The pm (private messaging) system isn't to be used for requests for help with computer issues.   All requests for help must be posted in a topic on the forum where the poster will benefit from the knowledge and expertise of all members, and many others will benefit from the answers and solutions provided.   If any member (which includes moderators) wants to volunteer aid by pm after a topic has first been opened, then that's up to him or her and is perfectly acceptable.   Using the pm system as an alternative to opening a topic where everyone may benefit, isn't the correct or fair way to use that system, and could put members into the uncomfortable position of having to refuse requests for help, or worse still, being unable to refuse.   If any member is in that position, and still doesn't know what to do, then please pm one of the moderators, and they will sort it out quickly, confidentially, and in as friendly a way as possible.     Note:   Any infraction of these guidelines will result in a warning placed against your Piriform Forum account and will be added to your overall warning level.
