I had this the other day, I was told the servers were down. Make sure you aren't blocking it with a firewall or something. -
New CCleaner won't close IE or Edge.
TwistedMetal replied to What do you mean by Displa's topic in CCleaner
You may configure the preloading options in the Windows Registry directly. The option works on all editions of Windows 10 including Windows 10 Home. Tap on the Windows-key, type regedit.exe, and hit the Enter-key to open the Registry Editor. Confirm the UAC prompt that is displayed. To disable the preloading of Microsoft Edge: Paste the following address into the address bar of the Registry Editor: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\MicrosoftEdge\Main Right-click on Main and select New > Dword (32-bit) Value. Name it AllowPrelaunch. Double-click on the new Dword and set it to 0 if it is not set to 0 by default. To disable the preloading of New Tab Page and Start content by Edge: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\MicrosoftEdge\TabPreloader Right-click on TabPreloader and select New > Dword (32-bit) Value. Name it AllowTabPreloading. Double-click on the name and set its value to 0. A value of 0 means preloading is disabled, a value of 1 that it is enabled. -

New version downloads 2 Trojan horses
TwistedMetal replied to Lalile's topic in CCleaner Suggestions
It's a false positive. It happens with every release. It doesn't contain any viruses. -
It's not a bug... It generates the text file for the Uninstall window, without it. There would be no Uninstall in Tools.

CC icon has taken over my desktop!
TwistedMetal replied to Nancy Kennedy's topic in CCleaner Help Requests
All you need to do is change the default app. Click the Start button, Settings, in Search, type in default apps. Scroll to the bottom click on Choose default apps by file type, then scroll down the .pdf and change it to Acrobat Reader DC. I believe that is what you are using. -
It does appear to server issue, will let them know!
-
Are you still getting it? Sometimes this happens when their server goes down. Just let us know if you see it again.

Yes, it's a false positive. It usually happens after every release. It should be fixed in a day or two, Microsoft will have to update the filter. -

TwistedMetal replied to DivBy0's topic in CCleaner Help Requests
Windows automatically recreates the files once they are deleted. They will be empty though...
