  1. I think the expression "don't feed the troll" fits quite well here.
  2. Probably because the 970s uses a new controller than the 960s/850s did. The 860s probably don't get detected, either, as it is the same controller as the 970s.
  3. Thank you. They are fixed now.
  4. Been quiet on this thread this past week. Anyways, I am pleased to announce our new readme is now published on GitHub. The new readme contains more information on how to create your own entries, all the variables we use, all the code we use, etc. Please check out the new readme here: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/blob/master/README.md Also, all the headers of each file has been updated to better reflect the new licensing system and our new readme file.
  5. Agreed (and yes I meant pages, haha). On a different note, I am pleased to announce the first official stable release of Winapp3 (though it can still nuke your system due to the number of aggressive entries). The changes include some new entries and some minor cleanup and improvements. See the full list of changes here: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/commit/9e966b3afa74eee160a421d4557cbf182e337306 Also, I am looking for someone who would be willing to spend a little time looking over the "Windows 10 Useless Files" entry and the " Useless File Extension". The "Windows 10 Useless Files" entry should probably be renamed to something else, but I do not know what those files are (look like some video files) or what they are for as they don't seem to exist on my system. As for the "Useless File Extension" entry, I have given it the best I can, but it is quite a big task. I do not have enough time on my hand to do extensive testing and improvements for it, so if anyone has some time to spare, I would appreciate it if they could go over this entry. If not, it will likely stay as it is for the time being. Over the next week (actually Wednesdays are really my only free time now), I will be working on improving our documentation. It should be much more thorough compared to what is posted on the first page. I also need to update the headers on both Winapp2 files. Looks like I got a full week ahead of me, huh.
  6. Actually, I would much rather starting moving things over to GitHub. Once Winap2ool comes out of beta, I will be working on making a better readme and documentation over at GitHub. Eventually, we will probably end up closing the Winapp2 website as it doesn't have much purpose anymore, but this hasn't been discussed, yet. I don't mind keeping this thread open. Perhaps a bit of cleaning of this thread would coming in handy (we are almost at 300 posts). Maybe people will be nice enough to specify if there contributions belong to Winapp2 or Winapp3 for the future.
  7. Beta 5 of Winapp3 has been released. This will most likely be the last beta version of Winapp3, if nothing else comes up. This update includes a new section for entries that take (or could take) a long time to scan on users systems. The new section is called "Dangerous Long". Other changes include an improved Nexus Mod Manager Old Config entry and some minor changes to some warnings. https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/commit/b1e3f78919c63642ea47fd9988907378a8b7b0eb
  8. In case you haven't noticed, ApMichael has been promoted to a contributor on GitHub. He is now a part of the official team behind Winapp2/3. I would also like to announce his release of Beta 4 for Winapp3, which consisted of a 2 part commit. These changes included many fixes of entries, removing duplicate entries from Winapp2/CCleaner, adding some new entries, and much more. All can be viewed here: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/commit/b1fc05b24c9d63d2c1548a0d6afd719c59bd2608 https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/commit/99efab6057d6780d24a68e7e9d18de8f71117975
  9. On another subject, I will be working on licensing everything, including Winapp2 and Winapp2ool. I have already licensed Winapp3 under CC-BY-SA 4.0 (will also be used for Winapp2 both versions). Winapp2ool and CCDump (since users seem to still find this useful) will be licensed under GNU GPL v3.0. This can be further discussed here: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/issues/236
  10. I have re-uploaded Winapp3 and released a beta 3 along side of it. The changes in beta 3 include the previous changes I listed for beta 2, along with an improved 7zip language entry, removal of many unneeded warnings, improved existing warnings and names for entries, and some cleanup and cherry-picking. I won't bother posting the GitHub change log this time, because it will just show Winapp2 being deleted and replaced with Winapp3, so here is the raw download here: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/master/Winapp3/Beta/Winapp3.ini As I said before, if anyone is willing to take on the task of looking into some of the existing entries and determine if they are still necessary, please feel free to.
  11. I am pleased to announce the release of beta 2 for Winapp3. This beta includes a complete organization of Winapp3, an improved section of Language entries, and various other file cleanups, especially with warnings. Also, I uncommented (is that a word?) out all the entries that were previously commented out, so you should see even more entries appear now. The changelog is kind of bad due to the fact that I used Winapp2ools new auto correction, but here it is anyways: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/commit/db6e48157429e7b491a41af1f36c81e286e0b490 In other news, I would appreciate if anyone would be willing to review some of these entries throughout Winapp3 and see if any of them need changing/improving/removing. Work has picked up on me and I have little time to do this but I will continue to improve the file as is.
  12. Updates: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/commit/04aed22708196c1bfa064407f6dcd009fcfd4f7a
  13. Small update: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/commit/57215b9b083ec333b55f21ed46f6dbac5de78562
  14. https://raw.githubusercontent.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/master/Winapp3/Beta/Winapp3.ini Alternatively, you would just click on one of the files and click on "Raw" and it will take you to that.
  15. I am pleased to announce the first introduction of Winapp3. This file will be for aggressive/dangerous entries that do not make it in Winapp2. Currently, this is a very early beta build of an old Winsys.ini file I recovered that I have modified slightly to include a header, version number, # of entries, and removed all the old comments that are unneeded. The file is very unpredictable at it's current state since it is quite old, but I will be improving it over time. It is very possible that this file can nuke peoples systems, so use with extreme caution. DO NOT use this file if you do not know what you are doing and you know how to back up and restore your system. The first step would be to rename Winapp3 to Winapp2 so it runs on CCleaner (if you don't know how to do this step, then you probably shouldn't be using this file at all). All of this is pretty clear in the header, too. So with all that said, here it is: https://github.com/MoscaDotTo/Winapp2/blob/master/Winapp3/Beta/Winapp3.ini Ultimately, this is also where cleaning of useless language files will be put, too.
