Is it possible for CCleaner to delete some photos from My Pictures? I went to the folder the other day and several of my photos were missing. I tried Search and restored some of them but not all. I can't figure out what I did to loss them or how to get them back. I know I didn't put them in the Recycle Bin.

Hi country girl,
CCleaner doesn't delete any file, unless they are saved in some Temp or Temporary folder,
and/or unless they are saved in some customized folder that user want clean.
Do you have any file/folder setted in Options > Custom ?

No, they were not in a temp. folder. They were all in the My Pictures folder.

I'm not sure what happened but what I know is that your probably most worried about getting your pictures back right?
Here is what you can do.

Here are a couple programs that will find deleted files:
http://www.snapfiles.com/get/restoration.html
http://www.snapfiles.com/reviews/undelete-...deleteplus.html
http://www.recuva.com/

And there are more here:

Good luck let me know how it goes. sad.gif

You need to try to do as little on your computer as possible besides getting your files back because the more you do the worse the chances are that the files will survive. sad.gif

Hi country girl,

This may be a shot in the dark, but if your using Windows Photo Gallery as your default pic viewer, you should check & make sure that you don't have the option to send the pic file to Recycle bin after a certain time or action chosen. Check any other photo viewer that you might be using as well for such an option. Here's how to check on Photo Gallery:

1. open Windows Photo Gallery
2. click on "File" at top left corner
3. click on options
4. under the "Original Pictures" section make sure "Never" is selected
5. click OK to apply
Here's a screen shot:
