Hi

Over the last week or so I've noticed a large increase in the time taken to startup/shutdown my laptop.

I have a firewall and virus checker plus run CCleaner, Spybot Search and Destroy, Adaware SE Personal and now Ewido anti-malware regularly.

Things have improved a bit but after reading through these forums Ive installed Hijack This and was hoping someone could deduce from this log if there is still some obvious improvements that could be made to startup and or general speed.

Thanks
J

Thanks for that Crunchie

I ran the scans at BitDefender, Panda and TrendMicro before following the rest of your instructions.

Here's the new log.

I think the laptop is running ok generally but I haven't really noticed any startup speed improvements as yet.

Cheers
J

Not seeing any reason for the slow startup. If you wish, you can run silent runners to make sure there is nothing there that hijackthis may have missed?

Go here and download then run Silent Runners.vbs. It generates a log. Please post the information back in this thread.
If you have a script blocking program, please allow the file to run. It is not malicious.
