Dear friends, since Recuva provides the feature of making files unrecoverable, what about making them really, really unrecoverable by also deleting their file names? Perhaps a new checkbox in the Options/ Action tab could provide the access to this feature.

I believe mods should merge these posts. As a good feature with a check mark to use it would the peter gutmen it will write over ten times files can not be recovered when used .

Merging such threads, and trying to make sense of the merged mess, would be a real time-wasting pain in the b. The Gutmann method is not relevant to the problem of overwriting file names in the MFT, and not relevant to this century's disk drives.
