Second one from me:

Mine this month.
Icedrake
Mr.Brownstone, are you using XP or Vista? If you're using XP, what theme is that? Looks nice! smile.gif
mr.brownstone
That is vista.
Theme here http://k-johnson.deviantart.com/art/Clears...Vista-126471800
Icedrake
Dang. That looks like a nice theme; I was hoping XP users could use it. Do you know of any themes like that that would work on XP?

I like ur tool bar dennis, what is it? whats wrong with image shack?
DennisD
The tool bar is RocketDock, one of the best freeware programs going:

RocketDock:

A month or so ago, I decided to change to having those shortcuts as Quicklaunch items, but found I couldn't live without RocketDock after using it for so long.

The main ImageShack site has always caused this thread to load painfully slow for a lot of people, especially those on low bandwidth or dialup. Hence the ban on it.

Icedrake
Question about RocketDock: Does it slow down your system at all Dennis? And about how much RAM does it use? (Want to put it on old comp.).

Btw, it's safe to use right? Have you had any errors or anything like that using it?

Absolutely no slowdown or side effects at all Ice, and I'm not aware of any negative comments from any of the other members who use it.

This figure can fluctuate a bit, but not by too much, and with the size of Ram most folk have now, it's insignificant.
Icedrake
Wow, that is TINY memory usage. Definitely going to install this one.

Offtopic: I got definitely right again! laugh.gif

You deafnitlee did. smile.gif

RocketDock can be higher, but usually settles down. At the moment mine is running at 548K.
Icedrake
Okay, just installed RocketDock and set it up just the way I would want it. Now I can't even imagine how I got along without it! (This is going on my new computer ASAP biggrin.gif). Right now RD is only using about 10k memory, probably because I haven't restarted yet.

Rocket Dock's cute, I've tried it, even created icons for it. If you like it, go for it. I found it useless after a short while, seeing how I rarely ever see my desktop with all the fullscreen apps I run. The only time I see my desktop is when I'm starting up or turning off.
Jamin4u

I've been using Rocket Dock for a while now and kinda like it.
Keeps the desktop clean with easy use.

Just pretending I have the new snow leopard mac smile.gif
Corona
Hazelnut, cute desktop. And I see it's in Win98 skin, one of my favorites. You have your clock set to 24 hour readings? blink.gif That's so...military, or at least marine.
I'll assume that green box in the system tray is Task Manager. And I see Sandboxie, and Avira, and some USB connection, and the classic nVidea control panel (which I use), and a yellow warning shield for updates.
I found out by accident about 2 months ago that I could load Processor Explorer when I call up Task Manager. I've had PE for years and never knew about that.

I'm sure all of you here at this forum already knew about it for years.

So why didn't anybody tell me about it?

WHY DID YOU KEEP IT A SECRET?!

Me too, and I didn't knew it either.
Thanks, I've just found out how. smile.gif

Corona you assumed wrong!

The little green taskbar grid is my Online Armor firewall status window showing me what connections I have at the time etc.

My retro desktop? don't spend much time on it so don't really mind what it looks like. smile.gif

You forgot to mention my spider solitare again laugh.gif

Here's mine for this month. smile.gif
From this to this:

Did you switch to Windows 7 or is that just a theme? Sorry hard to tell, some Win7 themes look so much like the actual Win7 theme. laugh.gif Nice background btw. wink.gif

I saw it. I thought I'd save you from the extra embarrassment.
I actually like the Win98 theme, you know, how the window edges look. But I change the window titles' blue > lighter blue color scheme to black > dark gray.
Lately I've been using that XP noire (black) theme that someone here pointed out a few months ago.

That's launchy. Just type in the name, or a part of the name of an app/file/folder it will search for it, and launch it. Quite handy smile.gif
Icedrake
Yeah, Launchy is a great program. It can save you a lot of time.

No skin or theme. Just XP default and RocketDock, populated with icons picked up from various sources.

Happy to upload any of the icons for you, as I'll never remember where I got them.

Thanks. I took a screen shot in game, tweaked it a little, and added the three logos. If you notice, I was on low batter power, so my setting was on Power Saver for my laptop. My bottom bar is normally a lot darker. The ship is one of the Tech 3 ships, which has a base hull, and then there are 5 subsystem slots (Offensive, Defensive, Propulsion, Engineering, & Electronics) that you can pick which specific part you want. There are 5 parts in each subsystem slot, and each combination looks different. This ship is for the Amarr race - there are three other races (Gallente, Caldari, & Minmatar) which each have their own ship (Proteus, Tengu, and Loki). Their technical name is Strategic cruiser - once you assemble the ship, you still choose specific weapons, afterburners, hardeners, etc etc. They're mad expensive, and I don't have one yet, but that is how I'd want mine to look in the future.

Now I've got 2gb of RAM, I could probably try some of these games, although I'm a PS2 man at the moment.

Anyways, this isn't what you could call a nice desktop, but this picture just tickled me.

Now that's what I call putting your back into it! smile.gif
