My drive's file system is FAT32. Defraggler can't move any folder during defragmentation. Why? Can be fixed?

You need to give more info.

Operating system used, version of defraggler used etc.

Windows XP Home Edition
FAT32 file system
All Versions of Defraggler (I have the latest)

During defragmentation, defraggler moves most of the files in other blocks in the drive but never moves the folders.

The light blue squares are folders.

I downloaded today the very latest version and the problem remains. The folders can't move.

No defrag product can defrag folders while in Windows. Some can while rebooting.
But I don't know a free product that can do that. Maybe Jkdefrag (now MyDefrag ), haven't tried that one.

But overall I agree that Piriform's support for FAT32 is lacking (Recuva is even worse), and that's especially awkward if you want to use Defraggler or Recuva with flash drives.

Try to defrag freespace. That will actually take some of the light blue dots away. Action -> Avanced -> Defrag freespace.
