What's up with this Yahoo Tool bar when your about to update?
I stopped short because I don't need it, is there an opt
out provided?

Yes. Uncheck the "Install Yahoo! Toolbar" box when you run the installer.

Or visit the download builds page and grab either the Slim installer, or Portable version, neither of which include the toolbar.
