Recuva 1.28.424 crash on XP (tested on two other machines) during file extraction. See screenshot.

Welcome to Piriform lunter.
Now I've never seen that error but I'm using a different OS and the newest version download yesterday works as it should do. Now that error is a Visual Studio error message that isn't the normal Windows error message where it want to send a report to Microsoft is it?
To check if Recuva is causing an error run it in debug mode.
Start Run: find where you installed Recuva then add /debug at the end with a space in between Recuva.exe and /debug .../Recuva/Recuva.exe /debug this should produce and a log file in the Recuva folder which you can post back here.
