Whenever I check for updates through the CCleaner program it always opens up both Firefox and IE.
Firefox is my default browser and no other programs have ever caused this kind of behavior. Does anyone else have this problem?

No, try setting your default browser back to IE. Then Swithch it back to firefox and see if it still does it.
