1st post.
After searching (here) and finding nothing really about removing or uninstalling Yahoo toolbar
or anything for that matter about the Yahoo virus, I'm asking the question; how do you go about removing it?

This is what I've done to try and rid myself of the scourge: I have gone to control panel>Add/Remove programs>uninstalled, then to CCleaner to remove/uninstall the Yahoo Installer that would not leave via add/remove > then registry cleanup via CCleaner then HiJackThis to remove the BHO and opened Firefox and there it was Yahoo toolbar. (hence:virus)

I removed CCleaner, Mozilla Firefox; went to program files and erased the folders of every thing concerned, reinstalled and I still have it. If I have to do a ******* complete reinstall to get rid of it I will.
Since screwing up and not unchecking the little box when I upped to 2.06, I have noticed a serious lag from the point of striking a letter/number on the keyboard to it showing up on the screen - I'd say as much as .5-3 seconds, which leads me to believe that by installing a persistent, self protecting malware I now have a keylogger called yahoo.

Have you tried this?

Obviously I hadn't : dry.gif Before I would have figured it out I would have had to come down off my anger high at Yahoo (and myself for installing said bar). After all, if there was an uninstall option in ADD/REMOVE, who would of thunk to look there?

I bow to you hazlenut.

Thank you.

I've been using CCleaner for couple of years now and have watched it go through some growing pains but it is one of the utilities that seem to be the first when I do a clean install. That and Eraser.
