I've backed up my files from my D: Drive to an external HDD and deleted some of the files from my D: Drive. Next I formatted my C: Drive but my external HDD was not deteched after I reinstalled Windows so I have to format the external HDD also. I used Recuva to recover the files from my D: Drive but only some of the files are found. At the status bar there are still files ignored. How do I get Recuva to recover all the files or scan for them?

Options - Advanced - Tick the first three boxes. The first might be some help, the other two are no help at all as far as recovering data is concerned. Your lost files may well have gone forever.
