Could someone tell me what to do to my one computer still displaying text not in English even tho I have font set to Lucida Console, font style set to regular and font size set to 10? Script is set to Western. I have done a system restore to a day before I used CCleaner 1.39.502. This version totally makes me mad because I can not read anything in this computers WindowsUpdate log file. Only shows little 0's now. I never want this file deleted or cleaned as I use this file to see when next automatic update detection time is scheduled and if there are any errors. Why did this version screw this up in this WindowsUpdate notepad and other notepads read in English correctly? I have gone back to 1.38 version but think it is to late on this computer. I sure hope there is a workaround this to see it in English again as I do not want to reformat my whole drive again. Again cannot understand why CCleaner 1.39.502 did this to this log file. This version was not thoroughly tested before it was released.
Well I figured it out myself. Version 1.39.502 changed the encoding from ANSI to UNICODE. So when I was looking at the unreadable windows update log file I clicked on file in notepad then save as and changed UNICODE back to ANSI. Will be using 1.38 version until this is hopefully corrected in next months release.
PS when I changed back to ANSI still could not read what was in log at that time but when I went to microsoft update site and checked for updates everything was printed in log file was readable in English so I deleted the UNICODE section that could not be read. What a pain but all is well again until the author corrects this problem.
