When I turn on my computer, I get the following error message:

RTHDCPL.EXE - Illegal system DLL relocation

The system DLL user32.DLL was relocated in memory. The application will not run properly. The relocation occurred because the DLL c:\windows\system32\hhctrl.ocx occupied an address range reserved for windows system DLL's. The vendor supplying the DLL should be contacted for a new DLL.

I don't have a clue what this means, how it got in my computer, or how to delete this error message from coming up everytime my computer is booted up. My system works fine, but the message and how it got there is annoying. If anyone can help me, please advise. Thank you!

Hi, Its the intel sound manager thing.(the orange icon in your system tray)
I had this happen to me on my laptop a couple of weeks ago. I deleted its start up key with hijackthis and the problem was fixed. If you want to post a log I'll show you which entry to fix.

Thanks for posting that.
I noticed the issue when I reformatted my laptop a couple weeks ago and then ran windows update. That program doesn't really do anything all that usefull so I wasn't too annoyed, but its good to know that they fixed it.

This error occured because of Microsoft security update KB925902 On April 3/07. No need for the Hotfix Patch if you update Realtech soundcard.

TugZip had the same problem, thus the recently released updated version of it with no new features but instead just to fix the "Microsoft induced problem."

The effected items are:

• TUGZip
• CD-Tag
