I am encountering a problem in the initial display. The SELECT function does not dispaly completly.

By moving the cursor to the area just to the right of SELECT and clicking once, I can get a selection box.

Everything then else appears to work fine (the box could be wider). The error log (.txt) is empty.

The attachents are screenshots of the actual displays.

Running on a Dell 8200, P4 1.8, 768Mb, NVIDIA 6200 (dual), xp home.

I tried adjusting screen resolutions and DPIs (normaly 1024 x 768 -144dpi) with no effect.

My one other eccentricity is that I am running windows classic formats for everything that I can, including a couple of not so common registry tweaks.

From what I can see in the forums, it looks to be something unique to my setup. I'm also having some similar problems with some drop downs in Adobe Acrobat Reader 8.0 (and 7.0).

I also could not find if Recuva is supposed to work on CD/DVD drives. Mine are not detected, even with a disc loaded.

If you are intersted in more details, I would be happy to supply dumps, etc.

It seems you are using a customized Windows Classic theme with larger fonts and sizes.

Try reselecting Windows Classic Theme then compare.

I have tried a varierty of combinations in the display menus, including "fireone's" suggestion. No change.

Display settings are as follows:
Theme: windows classic (modified) - due to color 1 change in Appearence
Desktop: (none)
Appearence: Windows and buttons Windows classic
Color: Windows classic*
Advanced: color 1 changed - reverting to standard color has no effect on problem
Font: normal

Settings: 1024 x 768
avdanced: 144 dpi - chnaging dpi has no effect on problem.

I have also noticed that the Find function in recuva is also displaced and truncated and not functional.

Incidentily, i did hard reboots between changes. No help.

thanks for the suggestion.
