I just installed Recuva. WinXP sp1 machine.
When trying to start recuva, I get the standard "Recuva has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." Windows error message. (With the send error report stuff.)

I have exactly the same problem you just described.

I tried uninstallig and reinstalling many times with always the same error message.


Someone has a solution for this bug?

We've got a new release coming out this week that should fix this problem.
