Is there a program that can do with Linux what CCleaner does with Windows, eg (securely) delete histories and MRUs?

This question would be answered better at a forum that deals with linux. (CCleaner is obviously windows only, and most of the uses of this forum are using windows.) Try the Ubuntu forum or any other linux specific one.
