Would it be convenient to try a system restore to before removing the uninstaller?

Or you could manually download the patch and try reinstalling then uninstall.

thx for the info...

the install was the middle of last year so i no longer not have a system restore point...

after reinstalling kb911280, now at least i get the uninstall wizard (i didn't before), however after the wizard goes through the uninstall process i just get the following message "the handle is invalid, kb911280 was not uninstalled".

any other thoughts?

could i just delete the kb911280 folder?

thx, again.

After you reinstalled did you reboot then try the uninstaller?

May be worth a shot.

humpty...just a quick note to close out my problem...and to THANK YOU for your help

my problem started when i could no longer use dial access for roadrunner

found out it was due to microsoft security update...kb911280

i deleted the hotfix uninstaller and could not uninstall it

reinstalled kb911290 as you suggested and then tried to uninstall it

the uninstall wizard went through the uninstall process but at the end said it was not uninstalled

anyway, just by chance i tried roadrunner dial access again...and it worked just fine

therefore, the uninstaller must have done something even though it may have not completely uninstalled kb911280

thx again and bye
