I recently switched ISP companies from a dial-up to DSL. I uninstalled all the old dial-up software but my IE title bar still had the old ISP's company logo on it. I found a small utility which got rid of that, however there is still a button with that company's logo on IE's toolbar to click which takes me to the old ISP's webmail site. I'm not sure how to get rid of that button. I'm assuming there's some registry setting I need to edit but I wouldn't even know where to begin to try and find it. Any help would be appreciated. I'm running Windows XP and IE-7.

It's very annoying that companies out there stick their logos and corporate names on the software I run on my machine and not give me a way to uninstall them.

In the article here

http://blogs.chron.com/helpline/archives/s...ernet_explorer/

there are 2 paragraphs you might find interesting. One is called "Getting rid of ISP branding" (is this the little tool you used?)

The other is below it called "missing the back button" and explains how to get rid of buttons you don't want. Perhaps it may help

Thanks for the link. I was able to get rid of that button very easily, I should've figured it out myself. To get rid of the IE title bar branding I hit Start then Run then entered "rundll32.exe iedkcs.dll,Clear" and hit Enter. That worked but then I noticed my Outlook Express also had the branding on its title bar as well so I used the http://windowsxp.mvp.../ISPUnbrand.zip utility, the same as in the link you provided, and that removed the branding from the OE title bar. But now I've noticed that when I open Outlook Express I get a box popping up that says "Logon - pop.academicplanet.com" and is asking me for my username and password. AcademicPlanet was my old dial-up ISP. I can close that box without entering a username or password and then I get an Outlook Express box popping up telling me some errors occurred while processing the requested tasks. Saying there was a problem loggin onto my mail server 'pop.academicplanet.com'. I don't use OE so it's really not an issue other than I'd like to have all the old AcademicPlanet stuff off of my system. Any ideas regarding these latest issues?

Thanks!!!

A couple of things you could try.

Go to control panel> network connections and make sure your old ISP is deleted there.

In Outlook Express go to tools> accounts > mail tab, and make sure your new provider is the default and delete the old one if still there

Oh I do use Firefox. But I couldn't sleep at night knowing that there was crap on my new computer that I didn't ask to be there and that I couldn't get off, which is one of the reasons I use CCleaner. :D
