OK, i'm not not really sure whether the problem lies in my PC or if it's a bug in the latest release of ZoneAlarm free..

My firewall has been acting strangely in that it often now fails to respond to new installations when they try to connect to the internet or a trusted zone...and every time that happens - Windows locks up to the point where i end up having to unplug the power cord and the battery from my laptop. very annoying... any ideas what's going on here?

Sorry for the delay. (I've been kinda busy)

Log looks pretty clean but I would advise that you run the kaspersky online scanner when you get some time.(post that log back for me if it finds anything).

This issue very well could be the new firewall. I know that I've been using ZA suite on my laptop and the new version was pretty solid for me.
ZA is a kinda heavy app though so I switched the laptop over to pc tools firewall and its been running like a dream. My suggestion is to uninstall ZA and use the windows firewall and if that solves your problem get a different firewall.
