Hi

On my Mothers new laptop she keeps getting the yellow shield update icon in the system tray.

When I right click on it an select custom, the update reads:

MSXML 4.0 SP2 Security Update (KB927978).

After installing the shield keeps coming back with the same update.So it is not installing properly.I've checked in Add/Remove programs (with updates checked), an it is not shown.

Any ideas why it will not install, and why the yellow shield keeps appearing with the same update?

Oh err, think you could be right there.

I've tried to Google it, an it seems to be quite a common problem.But no easy fix.

I`m not sure if this will help, but there`s a whole page devoted to that particular update at this address.

I`ve got this update on my pc and as you can see from the attached pic it is used only rarely, and I`ve no idea when or why.

Maybe from the above info one of the other guys can make sense of it.
