I am unable to remove my temporary internet files. When I use ccleaner, it stops after a few progress blocks, then it closes down and displays the message (in the title). I have the same problem when I use the disk cleanup on Windows. On the first screen when I begin the scan, it closes down once it begins "scanning internet temp files", and the same error message follows. I also have tried removing them manually, and again, I get the same sort of error message from Windows. Using the internet options method, it does not remove all the temp internet files. All anti-spyware programs I have used (Symantec, Ad-aware, AVG) either freeze, or are forced to close down once it begins scanning the internet temp files. I have to stop the scan before it reaches this point in order to remove any spyware. I have tried all these options in safe mode, and my system restore is disabled. Still, it seems I cannot come within 10 feet of my internet temp files. I have a fairly new laptop computer, and this dilemma has been occuring after a recent malware infection (DirectVideo codec malware) about a week ago. Any help would be much appreciated.
