XP install cd serial

To find your or any install serial of any XP cd :
Place the XP install cd in your cd drive and click exit after the options come up.
Right click the XP cd drive and search for "UNATTEND.txt" and peruse the serial number shown within.
Is it the same as your install serial?

Yep, SIW is one of the best for system information.
About finding the product key straight off an XP install cd.
I was thinking more along the lines that a friends pc had crashed and needed to reinstall XP but had lost his product key.
Place the XP install cd in your machine and searching for unattend.txt should find it.

Actually I think I may have stuffed up.
I think the unattend.txt that is on every XP install cd might be just a sample and not the real serial.
Oh well,we live and learn.
