Hi kodiaks91, Welcome to the forum :)

You may want to print out these instructions or copy and paste them into a text file and save it to your desktop for reference, since you will have to restart your computer during the fix.

Please download FixWareout from one of these sites:
http://downloads.sub.../Fixwareout.exe
http://www.bleepingc.../Fixwareout.exe

Save it to your desktop and run it. Click Next, then Install, make sure "Run fixit" is checked and click Finish.
The fix will begin; follow the prompts. You will be asked to reboot your computer; please do so. Your system may take longer than usual to load; this is normal.

Once the desktop loads the results will open in notepad named report.txt, please post the contents of that text file into your next reply,

Run Hijack This and choose Do A System Scan then place a check next to these entries

O17 - HKLM\System\CCS\Services\Tcpip\Parameters: NameServer = 85.255.116.91 85.255.112.234

Close all open browser and other windows except for Hijack This and press the Fix Checked button

Optional Fix

O9 - Extra button: PartyPoker.net - {F4430FE8-2638-42e5-B849-800749B94EED} - C:\Program Files\PartyGaming.Net\PartyPokerNet\RunPF.exe (file missing)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: PartyPoker.net - {F4430FE8-2638-42e5-B849-800749B94EED} - C:\Program Files\PartyGaming.Net\PartyPokerNet\RunPF.exe (file missing)

If you installed PartyPoker and wish to use it then its fine to ignore, If you didn't install it intentionally, I suggest you uninstall it via (Start Menu > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs), because in some cases, these programs are supported by malware and get installed without consent.

If you have any Internet Connection problems after fixing the malicious 017 entries above then please go to Start -> Control Panel, and choose Network Connections. Then right click on your default connection, usually Local Area Connection or Dial-up Connection if you are using Dial-up, and left click on properties. Double-click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) item and select the radio button that says Obtain DNS servers automatically. Click OK twice, and restart your computer.

Finally open hijackthis and click Open the Misc Tools section (or Config... then Misc Tools if its on the scan screen)

Then click Delete a file on reboot

In the File Name field, copy and paste this:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\dmlea.exe

Then click Open

Hijackthis will tell you that this file will be deleted when the system reboots and ask you if you want to reboot now. Click Yes

Your system should then reboot

Please then post back the FixWareout report and a new HijackThis log, let us know if you have any problems

Regards

Andy

Nice work , that's looking alot better :)

That infection was responsible for redirecting your search requests through the Ukraine so hopefully that part is resolved now, its worth running a couple more scanners though to make sure there isnt any hidden leftovers or additional problems on your pc,

Download Blacklight beta HERE and save it to your desktop.
Run the program, accept statement > click next then scan
When its finished scanning exit the program and post back the log if it detects hidden files, The log is called 'fsbl-<date/time>.log' which will save to the same location as the blbeta.exe file.

Download this file - combofix.exe and save it to your desktop.
Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
When it's finished, it will produce a log of what it found. Please post the contents of that log in your next reply

Finally please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner.

Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be promted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT

  • Now click on Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make sure that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
      Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
    • Scan Options:
      Scan Archives
      Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:
      Select My Computer
  • This program will start and scan your system.
  • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
  • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
    • Now click on the Save as Text button:
  • Save the file to your desktop.
  • Copy and paste that information in your next post.
Please post back the blacklight log if it detects hidden files, the Combofix report and the Kaspersky report and we can take it from there.

Cheers

Andy

Thanks kodiaks,

Combofix's log looks fine, Kaspersky's log isnt showing any active malware problems but is showing an infected system restore point for the wareout file but that is to be expected after having the infection and is easy to remove.

Click Start Menu > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > SystemRestore

Choose Create a Restore Point then click Next. Name it and click Create, when the confirmation screen shows the restore point has been created click Close.

Next goto Start Menu > Run > type

cleanmgr

Click OK, Disk Cleanup will open and start calculating the amount of space that can be freed, Once thats finished it will open the Disk Cleanup options screen, click the More Options tab then click Clean up on the system restore area and choose Yes at the confirmation window which will remove all the restore points except the one we just created. Then press OK to clear the temp files found in the initial scan and close Disk Cleanup.

Apart from that the logs look fine but let us know if there is any remaining problems on the pc

Thanks

Andy

Hi Stef

Its nice to hear your PC is running fine again :), I will post a couple of steps below to help prevent further malware problems

Consider installing Spywareblaster if its not already installed, it doesn't scan and clean spyware but can help prevent it from being installed by blocking malicious ActiveX controls and also helps to prevent malware from installing via webpages. A tutorial on using SpywareBlaster can be found here.
  • Avoid illegal sites, because that's where most malware is present.
  • Don't click on links inside popups, Messenger programs or spam email messages.
  • Download free software only from sites you know and trust.
Please make sure to run your Antivirus software regularly, and to keep it up-to-date and also make sure your windows has the latest updates: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/

More information on how to prevent malware and to explain how you got infected can be found Here (By Tony Klein)

These steps will lower the chances of getting any more malware issues but let us know if you have any questions or problems anytime.

Kind Regards

Andy
