Running windows 98SE. Recently I uninstalled JRE 1.5.0_update 6 and installed JRE 1.5.0_update 9 due to various problems. Java apps seem to be working ok now.

I ran RegSeeker and CCleaner and both find numerious entries for "InvalidActiveX/Com" and "File or Path Not Found" which relate to JRE 1.5.0_update 6. JRE 1.5.0_update 6 shows in the Add/Remove program list but it is not installed. (If I try to remove it , it begans the installation). Are these entries safe to remove since I did uninstall (or at least try to) update 6?

Also, is there a setting in CCleaner to show how many entries it finds during the Analyize function?

You're much been better off to run CCleaner, RegSeeker, or any other registry cleaning app after uninstalling a program, especially before installing a new version of the program.
Complexity of incoherent design.
