I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed a sort of strange behaviour in AVG Free Anti-Virus v7.5 which is:
As soon as the computer is started AVG loads an Automatic Update window, yet is unable to download any updates. Subsequently canceling the Automatic Update window and then performing a manual update finds and downloads the needed update(s) without any problem.
Complexity of incoherent design.

I believe I found the problem on my system at least. It was because of the newest Arovax Shield which was causing not only the AVG updater to hang and be non-responsive it was also effecting other installed applications by making them hang such as WinRAR when adding files to an archive, etc.
Complexity of incoherent design.

I'm using Arovax Shield and no hang problems with AVG Free Anti-Virus v7.5 and WinRar (with ordinary maneuver). At least until now...

With AVG I had this annoyance in the first manual update. After that all is ok.
