1. Start, Run, type in: services.msc
2. Scroll down to and then double click upon: ClipBook
3. Set it to Manual if it's currently set at Disabled.
If it's already set to Manual try setting it to Automatic, then Start the service if it isn't running.
Strange how it works on this install of XP on my system as I noticed it's disabled, yet it loads without any error dialogs unlike my previous XP install when I had to change it to Automatic. Windows bug?
Edit:
ClipBook may require Network DDE and Network DDE DSDM to be enabled in services.msc too if I'm remembering correctly.

Right I've tried everything you suggested,no difference, I can select text and choose copy but,it will not paste into word or notepad, option is greyed out.

Maybe to post a HJT log for the experts to check to make sure you have not picked up a nasty

Back on topic:
I don't know how to fix the copy and paste problem so I have no idea of how to fix it since my suggestion didn't work, obviously the problem I had previously isn't the same you're experiencing so I'd recommend following MikeW's recommendations and to search Microsoft's support pages for topics regarding it: http://support.microsoft.com/

A window should pop up that looks sorta like notepad. Its the clipboard viewer.
Try copying some text and see if it appears in the viewer.

http://djlizard.net/...-v0.60.0.24.zip
Unzip it and open it up. Then click the green arrows and then press go.
This just corrects a few windows things that can get fouled up by random things. Who knows it might fix your problem.
If not let me know if you can see text copied in the clipboard viewer.

So, I'd suggest hooking up another mouse and see if this helps.

Mushu 13 suggested that my mouse could be a problem as i recently purchased a new one, I know that is not the problem as I was having this problem before .
