Hi, I'm lost on just trying to post... But this is probably out of the ccleaner forum, but I need some help-One answer was on the Web,but very involved and I would have burned out the PC in min.'s. The Spell check is grayed out on my outlook Express 6 Email. Checking help (dropdown menu) and looking down I saw csapi3t.dll was unknown- I think the problem. (I know, thinking is the main problem!). Is there a easy way to repair the spell check feature on the outlook mail - Win. XP SP2 Med.Ed. My many thanks for any help!! Thank You, Dan

Hello dan, yes sometimes the answers look more complicated than the question!
Have you had a try at this site, it has pictures as well to help. Give it a try, or have you lost your windows CD?

Thanks for the link Hazelnut, I saw that sight and although I have the Two-2 CD's for recovery-I would not want to chance losing all else-plus I don't know how to "open windows explorer"- not on desktop - I'll live with out the spell check and keep a dictionary near by. Good Day! Dan

Outlook Express uses the spelling checker provided with the following Microsoft Office programs: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft PowerPoint. If you do not have one of these programs installed, the Spelling command is not available.

Yep, you need office. I never understood why though since people with MS office will have the full version of outlook.

Anyway take a look at this program:
http://www.snapfiles...et/spelloe.html

It will add spell checking to OE for those who don't have MS office.
------------------------------------

Of course another option would be to switch to Thunderbird. Which is a mail client from mozilla that has built in spell check and numerous other features lacked by outlook express.
