I downloaded the new version and so far each time I have used it, it has not cleared my internet explorer history as it used to do. This has made me bewildered and confused and a little bit angry.

I'm not the OP, but I just helped a friend install CCleaner to try and clear out his recently typed URLs, and they're still there. I can duplicate it on my PC, which is running IE6 SP2. I shut down all IE windows first.

This is with CCleaner 1.33.382.

TIA!

do you and your friend have admin rights?
also, does it say "marked for deletion" next to them?
if so, you could try rebooting after you run Ccleaner.

Rebooting's cleared them out on mine. I'll ask my friend to check his on Tuesday.

Thanks!

version I have is apparently: 6.0.2900.2180.xpsp-sp2-gdr.050301-1519

which seems pretty long winded but that's what is says when I click help/about internet explorer.

let me know if this is not what you are after.
