I just did my first registry scan after downloading this. I had a desktop icon removed and I need to retrieve it. How do I do this? I am totally confused on how this works!!!!!

welcome to the forums!
did you make a backup?
if so, you can find it in "my documents".
just right click it and click merge.
are you sure it was something?
it may have just been a shortcut.
what exactly did it go to and did the shortcut work.
if it was pointing to a program that had been moved or deleted, Ccleaner would have probably found it.

Thanks for your help! :) I just realized that it wasn't an icon that was important. I thought it was one my husband used and he said he didn't use that one anymore and that he didn't think that it worked anyway....so that is probably why the scan deleted it. But at least now I know where the backup is located in case I do need to get something back.....thanks so much!!!! :D

no problem.
just remember to always make a backup!
Ccleaner deletes shortcuts that point to nothing.
so if the icon didnt work, Ccleaner would have deleted it.
hope to see you around on the forum :) :) :)
