Here are the results of BitDefender and HJT. The computer is running (running is an overstatement) Windows ME so I was unable to use EWIDO. If you could please examine this log and tell me if there is anything I can do to speed up this dinosaur, I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Andy

Would you mind giving the amount of RAM and CPU speed.
One thing though. I see that you have Norton Installed and that is a resourse hog! Uninstall that and get either... Avast! Home Edition *Free! or... AVG *Free Edition
Reg. code for Avast!*W33635424H2800A1106-FLDAMDDP <<<*copy/paste this when you FIRST start Avast! Good luck

Your log looks fine. I would try defragging your hard drive.
If you decide to switch AV's(which is completely up to you)
Etrusts free 1 year offer is your best bet.

Edit: Just saw your post.
Upgrading your ram would vastly improve your speeds. Switching from norton to etrust would make a huge difference as well. (uses not even close to half what norton does.)

Etrust is fine but I don't recommend to myself but for others I do
But avast just isn't up to par with actually removing what needs to be. Go to sites like spyware info/malware removal/ect and look at the logs that have avast on them. Anyway this isn't what this topic was for.
------------------------------------------
jawa
1st try defragging your hard drive and see if you notice any difference.
2nd If that doesn't make a difference try switching AV's.(or just disabling norton and see what kind of speed increase you notice)
3rd Upgrading your ram(this is what you will see the biggest speed increase with)

Thanks, all. Its my mother in law's computer so I'll leave it to her if she wants to spring for some more RAM. I appreciate the look.
