I keep my startup menu really trim and removing files with CCleaner or other progs has never had a negative affect on an application. I've noticed my new printer has a number of Canon and ScanSoft files in my startup menu. Just want to check with all you knowledgeable people to make sure it will be safe to remove them, i.e. my printer/scanner features will still function normally? Thank You!

The start menu only contains shortcuts to applications so that you can run them via the start menu.
But if they are in the "Startup" folder, it might be software is needed to be loaded on startup for the printer or whatever to operate properly.
But generally you can delete shortcuts from the start menu without any negative effect.
