SUPER Anti Spyware Options

I've seen someone on this forum has recommended Superantispyware. Is it worth having and is it better than Spybot, Adaware, Spywareblaster . . . or should it be added to the arsenal?

Alright I moved your topic and deleted the post in the hijack this log.
Anyway super antispyware is a relativly new program but it seems to be very usefull.

The reason I like it is that it removes some pretty serious infections that used to need special tools to be removed.(things like vundo, smitfraud, spyaxe, winfixer, and many more)

I was hesitent to try it out but I read a lot on some other forums about it.(spyware warrior, and wilders). The maker of it even went to wilders and was answering users questions, which is something I respect.

Its pretty new but it seems to be a good tool to add to your arsenal.

I got a little confused with the posting of new topics.

I just downloaded Superantispyware and ran a scan. Fortunately I use Firefox and Thunderbird along with Spywareblaster and Spybot so it didn't find anything to worry about. But I will continue to use it as part of the war on terror . . . whoops spyware.

Not far off, some malicious software is seen as Cyber Terrorism!
SUPERAntiSpyware I've found is best on a system with a good amount of processing power hence try it on an old Pentium II @ 400Mhz and you might as well eat a full course meal, and then walk the dog and it will still be scanning, that is if you've chosen to do the thorough/full scan.

Hehe, people shouldn't start talk about dumb stuff like cyber terrorism lol. Whenever there is something bad nowadays, people say oh thats terrorism!
Much laws have been passed thats infringe on privacy, under the cover that its needed to fight terrorism.
Terrorism is the latest buzzword.

"Ransomware" is f***ing evil though. It's rare, but it exists. It encrypts your files, so you cant access them, and to get them back, you have to pay money.

It is a legit anti-spyware application. I've had it installed since the member Humpty on here mentioned it and I immediately checked it out - first looking on the web to see if it was legit at SpywareWarrior.com, etc., and the results led to me to downloading, installing, and using it. I however won't let it touch my Win98 machine since the processor is slow which results into scans taking over one full hour - I'm not that patient, however on my WinXP machine a thorough/full scan takes 25 minutes which is o.k.

I must say though I like ewido better than it, or any other anti-spyware app.

I also installed and ran the full version. Seems to run as fast as Spybot S&D and Adaware. No apparent harm to my computer. Firewall pops up requests to update, I just let it do so, could disable that in preferences. I like it, but might not pay to renew it after the trial is up. Some functions are disabled after that.

It found some adware, missed BoPing, Showin, couple of others.

Just now noticed that this topic started in August of 06, but gonna post this anyway, might be useful. Moving slower but not yet stopped.

When I heard about SUPERAnti-Spyware which was back in 2005 I liked it! The scanning is slow but that's a good thing. I tried are Spyware Terminator and it seemed okbut I felt like I didn't need Real-Time Protection on my system since I haven't had ANY Infections for over 2 years.

All I use is what you see in my sig.

Ad-Ware
Spyware Blaster
AVG Anti-Spyware
And *SUPERAnti-Spyware

Stay away from usage of P2P Apps. <<<(Unless you know what your downlaoding), porn sites and opening unknown E-Mail Attachments AND YOU'LL BE FINE!

You need to install McAfee SiteAdvisor and it would have saved you a lot of trouble by alerting you that it is a rogue malware remover:

I'm not sure how effective it is, but if you need to do a real quick & dirty scan, you can always try the online scan, NanoScan from Panda. Does its thing in less than a minute. I sure wouldn't rely on this thing exclusively, but might be good for in between "touchups."

I would suggest uninstalling it, if you haven't already, and following the instructions HERE in case it has installed any nasties and to help remove them (and it).
