im looking for something like mcafee that i could download onto my laptop and be driving down the rd. with no internet, and get directions for a place.
is there such a thing?

Umm.. are you sure mcafee makes whatever it is your talking about? Do you want something like map quest/google maps?
MS makes streets and trips:

It even has a gps unit to give you directions as you go.
I know it works because the person I was working for over the summer was using it to find the houses we were working on.

hmm, i think i have streets and maps, it came with a 98 computer, old but it might work.
