I don't do HJT logs but have a couple of suggestions which would get rid of corrupted/damaged files in Internet Explorer's working folders:

• Right click the Internet Explorer icon on the Desktop and select Properties.
  Now click 'Delete Cookies', 'Delete Files', and 'Clear History'
  
• Run CCleaner and make sure Internet Explorer cleaning is enabled.
  
• Run chkdsk on each hard drive or hard drive partition you have to correct errors, e.g.;
  chkdsk /f C:
  chkdsk /f D:
  
• Restart Windows.

If you have multiple user profiles on your XP system you may want to repeat these steps.

Aaron it helps if you tell us everything that you have tried already.

It is my understanding that you have already ran a Kaspersky online scan, and it came out clean. And that you have done a repair of IE. Also, you just stated that you did a chkdsk on both drives.

Is there anything else that you've done to fix this?

Hi Aaron

The log looks fine, run a search for connwsp.dll and let u know if its found. It probably is there but HJT sometimes shows them as missing so its worth a check. Apart from that it looks fine, it could be a hardware problem or a ISP problem or even one of your programs conflicting, but it doesnt appear to be malware related.

You could try booting into Safe mode with Networking support and see if you have the same problem with IE freezing, if not it could be a program you have running thats interfering or using alot of System Resources to make IE freeze.

To help check for malware run a scan with Ewido and post back the log.

Download Ewido Anti-Spyware

• Load Ewido and then click the Update tab at the top. Under Manual Update click Start update.
  
• After the update finishes (the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
  
• Click on the Scanner tab at the top and then click on Complete System Scan
  
• Ewido will list any infections found on the left, when the scan has finished, it will automatically set the recommended action. Click the Apply all actions button. Ewido will then display "All actions have been applied" on the right.
  
• Click on "Save Report", then "Save Report As". This will create a text file which you can then save to the Desktop and post back

i cant download Ewido because im on someone elses PC.
its not that big of a concern though.

Hey Aaron , I think it would be there somewhere as the LSP chain would likely be broken if it was missing which means the pc would have no Internet Access until the Winsock Catalog is reset, maybe it needed to be set on the Advanced options for search hidden files and search system folders but we can reset it anyway as it will not do any harm

Goto Start Menu > Run > and copy and paste

netsh winsock reset

Then Press OK , when the cmd screen closes reboot the pc

Im sure the other person wouldnt mind you downloading a free security product to check if there is any malware files but if you want to leave that then it's fine
