We are using a small network at home with 7 pc's. We are using adsl, but as from the beginning of this month, something / somebody is using our cap. We did change our password with our service provider, but it did not help.

Is there someone with advice, please ?

Regards,

LeonB

To eliminate the obvious ... are you using any wireless components in this network?

Have you checked your software/hardware firewall activity logs?

Have you scanned each pc for malware?

I don't know how to check my firewall activity logs.

I did scan all the pc's with ad-aware. I switched on one pc at a time, but could not realy see from which one it is downloading / uploading.

Do you know of any software, free if possible, to track the traffic on all the pc's and also to limit them with a bandwidth limit per day ?

What firewall software are you running? What make and model of router(s)? I'm sure someone on the forum will be able to advise you.

You could use the full set of recommendations here but with 7 machines, I can see it would be nice to narrow it down. On the other hand, if one is infected, they all may be.

There appears to be some freeware at CNET Download.com but I've never used any of it.

We are using a Marconi DSL 4 Port Ethernet router.
