What do you call it [USB drives]?

If you said memory stick you are wrong! USB Flash Drive is the official name.

Flash drives and memory sticks are completely different things!

interusting, i call them flash drives but ive never heard of anyone calling them memory sticks...

Most people call them jump drives or flash drives. Memory sticks are an entirely different thing.

here in the UK I know loads of people that call them memory sticks, some of them even consider themselfs "good with computers"

Regardless of what people call it, if you know what they mean then that is all that matters.
Besides it is the manfacturers that can't seem to make their minds up.

Yes there are about 30 nicknames for them, call it whatever you want, but USB Flash Drive is the official name.
'Memory Stick' is in fact a Sony Trademark, so no manufacturer will be able to give their product that name.

NERD BLING...definitely gonna be how I refer to it from now on...anyone who's ever been to my school would understand, the entire math and computers faculty wears them around their neck like a gold chain...I think they even started giving them out during Frosh week to help the newbies get acclimated

i hardly ever say the official name. i just say flash drive and people would know what im talking about.
