Can you make it so the check update is a window in the application rather than opening up the website saying "you have the latest version". I think updates for non techy person would be bettter if it worked like ad-aware definitions (or virus scan updates). Some people who are not really computer people are hestiant to take the extra step and download it from a link from the website.

Welcome :)

Well you had to download it in the first place to get it. Why would you not be hesitant to dowload it and then be hesitant to upgrade it? <_< And why would you be hesitant to download from the author's website. It's other websites offering it that you need to be careful about.

Because (me the computer savy person) installs program on another users workstation who is not computer savy. They are hesitant to download anything from any website. Auto updating inside the program (as a seperate module) is more functional than forcing the end user to download from the website. Especially like my example where the end user is not too computer savy...

Kinda like the way Windows has an option to do autoupdates on end user PC.
